MailVision's IP Messaging Services Platform MailVision's (Sunnyvale, CA - 408-730-2626) SIP-based unified messaging system was a real standout at IT Expo. The newly released IP Messaging Services Platform has integrated SIP as a way of interfacing to soft-switches and other network routing elements (such as proxy or redirect servers), as well as communicating with intelligent client devices. While many unified messaging systems offer web front-end integration, MailVision's is among the first to be built ground-up on the basis of IP, and specifically designed as part of a next-generation public network infrastructure.

Internally, the system uses an IMAP4 message store for e- mail, fax, and voicemail files, and can access LDAP- compatible databases for user information (address books, etc.). Subscribers to a UM service powered by MailVision can access their messages by phone, with integrated text-to- speech capabilities; through a standard web browser; or through a wireless device, leveraging WAP to read and reply to messages, and SMS for notifications. Users can also store and access files on network databases via the web browser interface, as well as manage their preferences and personal databases. The company offers its product on a licensed or hosted model to carriers, ISPs, and ASPs.

Stealing the show with the IMS Demo, 3GSM February 2006

3GSM Barcelona, Spain - [A report from the 3GSM exhibition]: "... customers around the world scouted for the next phase IMS enabled services and applications. Most big networks promoted infrastructure...". " We had an idea to steal the show with an IMS demo. Comverse decided to allow us to integrate with their presence server which was a main functionality at the demo. It was the first time that Comverse presented under an IMA flag.

We received commitments from 10 companies to go for this demo. Two SIP server companies, MailVision and Personeta, followed by enabling solutions from RADVISION, Audio Codes and Unipier and innovative applications from Music Genome, Targetize, TeleMessage and Mobilitec and we created a unique demo. A complete eco-system of IMS services, the only one of its kind at the show".
